Pipe Organs in the United States of America Other On-Line Databases

Even though the OHS Pipe Organ Database is extensive, it is not the only such resource available on the Internet. Databases and directories or listings of organs can be found in many separate locations, and the criteria used for their scope and content are as varied as the organs they catalog. In the interest of supporting other web sites, and in the hope of encouraging further cooperation, the OHS Database will provide links to all similar on line resources through this sub-set of pages.

Links to other databases and directories are accessible through the Links Menu to the left. Some of the links that are included point to true on-line databases of pipe organs, others to on-line lists that do not have database search functions associated with them. Each site offers valuable information on organs within the stated limits of its scope.

Links to general organ web sites are not included, neither are web sites that might contain databases or lists of organs on sub-pages. A link is given only when it can go directly to a database site or list of organs.

The database links appear on two separate pages.

• Organs in North America. The page includes links to other resources and short descriptions of the content of each. Where local chapters of the American Guild of Organists have web sites with lists of organs, and where those lists are directly accessible, a link is provided. Similarly, opus lists of individual builders are linked, though there is no link provided to any builder's home page.
• Organs in Other Countries. Arranged similarly to the North American page, this one contains links to other on line databases. Because some sites are international in scope, some links may appear on both pages.

In the near future, a form will be provided through which visitors to this site can submit additions to our lists of links.
